About Alpha Class Bike & Ski Garage:
I launched this company with a passion to empower people to enjoy the outdoors more, especially via bike or ski, and to also learn to take care of the equipment that facilitates their ability to do so. It's important - having agency in the quality of your tools and gear gives you more ability to get outside, experience the wonder and beauty of the world around us, and maybe find some community with like-minded individuals who also enjoy what we do.
I have spent almost 3 decades in the bike and ski service and training industry, scaling from running service departments to being part of the team running the service division for a large specialty retailer. As part of that work, I've trained countless mechanics, service advisors, and shop leaders. I have a gift for breaking down complex processes into simple and easy to follow steps and I explain the why, not just the how. I have held factory certifications from Shimano, SRAM, multiple bike brands, and every major ski binding manufacturer.
You'll notice I gravitate towards supporting the backcountry end of the ski spectrum.
I spent the better part of the 90's exploring Colorado and Wyoming's backcountry offerings and carried that preference when I moved back to Pennsylvania. Alpine skiing is a blast and I'm well able to support that service but there's something to be said for quiet spaces and earning your turns. I'm cultivating relationships with brands that help with this and will be able to procure more sophisticated offerings than can be found on the racks locally. Â
My training and workspace is as authentic as it gets - a little on the scrappy side but filled with pro level tools and pro level expertise. When you take classes from me, you'll have the ability to procure the tools you just practiced with, knowing I have the experience to curate options that span from basic to more advanced depending on your needs. Reach out if I've piqued your curiosity.

Nordic Ski Service Clinic
Through decades of selling and servicing nordic skis, I've come across a lot of equipment that was in poor but easily remedied condition. Have a "waxless" ski? That's a misnomer. It still needs a glide wax applied regularly. It's waxless in that it does not need a sticky kick wax to grip the snow. You'll learn how to address the scratches in the base, apply paste and iron on waxes, and maintain the bindings. This is a hands-on class so bring your equipment and a curious mind. Tools and equipment will be provided. Special pricing on tuning supplies will be extended to class attendees.
